Overview

Q'Straint is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Production Department in Fort Lauderdale, FL! We are looking for a self-motivated individual with the ability to take initiative and work in a dynamic, fast-pace environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and designing manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, workforce utilization and workplace safety. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design and implement production processes to maximize efficiency of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, work force utilization and workplace safety.
  • Assist in design review of existing and new products; develop 3d models and drawings, quality plans for new products, and product drawings and specifications.
  • Verify and coordinate production assembly instructions and process.
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement improvements to existing products and processes.
  • Support purchasing and vendor coordination.  Includes component evaluation(s).
  • Provides product support activities with all departments as directed (i.e. Customer service, purchasing, Quality).  
  • Participates in MRB (Material review Boards), provide solution to functional failures and communicate issues to suppliers. This includes analysis of test and field failures to determine root cause of failure and initiate corrective action.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical and/or Manufacturing)
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing field or in a related area
  • 5+ years using Solid Works required
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing principles, processes, sheet metal and plastic fabrication
  • Safety-related product experience a plus 
  • Electrical engineering experience a plus
  • Computer skills; General business software (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Power point, etc.)
  • Demonstrated Communication skills (verbal, technical writing and presentation)
  • Demonstrated Analytical, Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Demonstrated Project Management Skills; ability to take a project from concept to implementation
